Overnight works scheduled for Hamilton roundabout
Published: Friday 28 February 2025

Road works on the A723 Hamilton Roundabout will require lane closures over three consecutive nights next week.
Motorists are being urged to plan additional time for journeys through the area, as road markings are renewed and improved.
Closures on the roundabout and its approaches – to and from the dual carriageway to Motherwell, and the M74 slip roads - will be in place from 8pm - 6am for three nights, starting Monday 3 March.
Although the area will remain open to traffic throughout, drivers should be prepared for delays.
As work will take place overnight, all restrictions will be lifted and the roundabout fully open each day from 6am, with work expected to be complete by Thursday 6 March.
Colin Park, Head of Roads, Transportation, and Fleet Services explained: “This work represents ongoing investment in road maintenance and safety in one of the most significant routes in and out of Hamilton.
“I hope that all who use it will agree that the temporary inconvenience will deliver long-term benefits for the thousands who travel through here each day.
“As ever, I extend my thanks to motorists in advance for their patience and cooperation.”
